Nope, went to KK on my own. Actually I go there now and again
for meetings. No clue about tours. Have stayed in a few places eg
Nexus Karambunai, Sutera Harbour, Shangri-la Tg. Aru. A few places
to go would be the Filipino market, white water rafting in Sungei
Keliu or Padas (can be arranged at hotel tour desk I think), buy
frozen seafood at places in town or from airport (lobsters, prawns,
fishes in mega sizes), climb Kinabalu and eat crazy loads of
seafood!
Sepiluk Orang Utan Sanctuary is in Sandakan – about an hour by
flight.
I have booked my flight to Sandakan and I am still thinking if I
should join the tour or just hire a car..... I will only
spend a day in Sandakan and a day in KK. My sole purpose of
going to Sandakan is to go to Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary.
Hmmmm....
